Top 10 2010 Utility/Two-Way Prospects

Every year there are a handful of players that pose an interesting question to scouts in how their skill-sets would be best put at the next level, either as a pitcher or as a hitter. At the high school level, it's not uncommon for the best players in the nation to pull double duty.

Kaleb Cowart has one of the most special arms in the nation, but also has potential at the plate as a legitimate five-tool talent at third base.

Cabrera and O'Conner are preferred as hitters given their impact bats and ability to make the proper adjustments at the plate. Cabrera likely will settle in at third base or possibly even a corner outfield spot at the professional level, while O'Conner is going to get some looks behind the plate.

Bryce Brentz has not pitched at all this spring, playing centerfield on an everyday basis for Middle Tennessee State to prepare himself for a similar role as a pro.

Brett Eibner and Stetson Allie's future are truly up in the air. Eibner is a true five-tool talent with the ability to touch the mid-90s and the ability to hit tape measure home runs. Allie may not be the same kind of athlete overall, but he too has a special blend of power and arm strength.

Kolbrin Vitek's future is more promising as a hitter, where his tools fit best at the hot corner.
