Top 5 2010 Closer Prospects

Most of the arms available for this year's draft come from the starting rotation, although as always, some of the best starters now will inevitably end up in the back end of a team's bullpen years down the road.

San Diego State's Addison Reed has enjoyed his recent conversion to a starting role, picking up a changeup and maintaining low-90s velocity deep into ballgames and increasing his value as a pitcher.

Kevin Jacob remains the top college closer with an intimidating frame and an equally intimidating fastball-slide one-two punch.

Chad Bettis, like Reed, is also starting this year, but is expected to return to the bullpen once he begins his professional career.
