Stephen Strasburg remains the cream of this year's draft class, and arguably one of the best draft picks of all-time. It is difficult to envision the Nationals going any other direction with the number one overall pick, as any other selection would clearly indicate a signability issue, which would not sit well within the Nationals organization, not to mention their fan base. After Strasburg, how the next tier stacks up is really up to one's individual interpretation. I'm putting Alex White #2, because I think he the size, athleticism, stuff and command to succeed at the highest level as a potential number one or two starter. College pitching continues to be the biggest strength in this year's class, with middle infielders at both the college and high school levels and prep catchers being the next notable draft strengths. Impact bats are a little difficult to come by this year.
