Mock Draft

While Strasburg has been a lock for the first overall pick for quite some time, Dustin Ackley has been a near-lock for the Mariners for the number two pick for a week or two now. There are still plenty of rumors flying around out there. The biggest selection may come for the Padres at the third overall pick. If they don't take Donovan Tate, he could slide a long, long way. Jacob Turner and Matthew Purke are other candidates to slide due to what they reportedly will be asking for to sign.

Pitching is not only going to dominate the top 10-15 picks, but the entire first round. Teams picking in the top 10 picks have already made it pretty clear that they intend to take advantage of this depth, much like teams did last year with the wealth of college bats.

Don't be surprised if a heavy run on bats after the first round follows the same for pitchers.

For my final, final mock draft be sure to tune into PG Crosschecker early next week, and also tune into XM Radio on Tuesday to hear my takes on some of the top ranked players as they come off the board.
