Analyzing Amateur Baseball Talent as it pertains to the MLB Draft

Top 50 2010 Prospects

Even with the presence of the top overall prospect, slugging sensation Bryce Harper, It has been perfectly clear that pitching will define this year's draft. Positional talent remains thin at every position across the diamond, and impact bats are going to be hard to come by.

This may cause teams to take some of the more talented two-way stars that are available as hitters, and it may also cause a few of the more notable bats to be selected earlier than where they normally may be taken.

Harper remains the top talent, and Jameson Taillon continues to make a cause to become the first prep right-handed pitcher to ever be selected first overall. Anthony Ranaudo has been sidelined since the first day of the college season with a stress reaction in his right elbow, while Drew Pomeranz, Deck McGuire, Chris Sale and Brandon Workman have all enjoyed success so far this year.
