23 free agents were offered arbitration that could effect draft pick compensation for the 2010 draft. We have another week to learn which free agents accept aribtration, which will tie them to their 2009 teams and remove them from the lists provided below. Usually only a small handful (two to three) players actually accept arbitration, although some of these free agents may still sign with their 2009 teams even if they decline arby.
Update: Type A free agents Rafael Soriano and Rafael Betancourt, as well as Type B free agent Carl Pavano, accepted arbitration from the Braves, Rockies and Twins respectively.
I intend to update this list as the free agents sign, and will update the draft order, as linked above, once all of the free agents have signed. Please refer to the draft order page for the raw draft order.
Note: The Elias rankings for the Type A free agents have been released. I have been unable to find the rankings for the 13 Type B free agents, so they are currently listed alphabetically. If you are aware of their official rankings, please feel free to email me, although their ratings aren't really that important since that rating doesn't effect compensatory picks issued in the supplemental rounds. Compensatory picks are awarded to teams losing Type A free agents first, with each team, starting with the worse team from the season before that loses a Type A free agent through the best, getting a compensatory pick before teams with two or more such free agents in each division (Type A or B) get another pick. Then, compensatory picks for lost Type B free agents are distributed in the same fashion.
